Best Essential Oils to Boost Energy Levels

We all struggle with our energy levels during busy times of the year – especially when the time changes and it becomes dark most of the day. Naps can help and sometimes they don’t. But sometimes you don’t even have a minute to see if a nap would help! This is where my list of the best essential oils to boost energy levels comes into play.

I know as a mama there are more times than not that I can’t lie down for five minutes. There are dishes, laundry, children, dogs, and keeping up with everyone’s schedules.

So when I don’t get a chance to just sit down and relax I grab my oils and either diffuse them or roll them on to boost my energy and focus. (Sometimes I actually just waft them out of the bottle actually if I really feel short on time.)

So here are my go-to essential oils for a quick energy boost!

Using these oils alone or in a mixture can help you to boost energy quickly and without much thought.

When I get a quick whiff of any of these oils I often feel calmed and focused right away. It forces me to take a deep breath and I usually feel positive effects immediately.

Now don’t expect them to make you the energizer bunny – that isn’t what is going to happen. You don’t smell the oils and then have energy to run a marathon after not sleeping for two days.

But, you will noticed feelings of being recharged and focused and that often leads to more energy to complete the tasks you’re looking to compete!

So how can you use these oils at the drop of a hat when there isn’t much time?

How to quickly use essential oils to boost energy

Honestly, diffusers are my favorite way to do this. Add a few drops into the water, turn it on and you’re good to go. I keep a diffuser in my living room so my whole family can get the benefits from it and maintain a healthy, positive environment.  I also keep one at my desk so that while I’m working I can reap the benefits of clarity, energy, and focus.

Sometimes you are on the run and a diffuser isn’t as easily accessible. So if that’s the case here are some ways you can use the oils while on the run:

  • Car diffuser
  • Roller bottles – these are used to dilute the oils with a carrier oil, you’ll set these up when you actually have time to sit down and make a blend you enjoy and then roll them on your pulse points like a perfume. doTERRA has already made roller bottles or you can make your own blend!

  • Spray bottles and mist spray bottles – use these like a Febreeze type sprayer on furniture or clothing after diluting the oils with distilled water. These toorequire prep time prior to use, too, but once they’re made they’re super easy to use in no time!
  • Dab the oils on your clothing like scarves or shirt collars (be careful with this that it doesn’t ruin the clothing. Some materials can be ruined by the oils so double check ahead of time or do a spot test.
  • Just take a whiff straight from the bottle! This is honestly my go to most of the time. You get a quick hit of the oil and feel ready to go. The only issue with this one is that you don’t get the consistent smell that you would with the other options.
  • Take them in capsule form.

Other ways to support energy levels consistently

Some of the best ways to support your energy levels include focusing on your lifestyle choices. The healthier you are, the more energy you have – which truthfully is common knowledge. But most of us ignore this fact and just say we have been overwhelmed with everything life is throwing at us. Which can be true, but eating McDonalds on the go instead of having some fresh homemade foods definitely isn’t going to support your energy levels.

So  in addition to using essential oils to boost energy levels here are some other ways you can support your health and therefore energy levels:

  • Make healthy diet choices
  • Focus on your gut health – this will include eating healthfully and making sure you’re getting enough prebiotics (probiotics too if you’re healthy enough for them) and polyphenols in your diet. Supporting your microbiome is a huge way to improve your gut and overall health. Atrantil is a great product for supporting your microbiome especially if you have IBS or anything similar.
  • Support your mitochondria. Your mitochondria are the part of your cell that deals with energy and power. So it makes sense that healthy mitochondria equals healthy energy levels throughout your body.
  • Try doTERRAs Lifelong Vitality Pack. This supports your entire body health. That means better energy, focus, brain health, and really anything else you could think of!
  • Check out doTERRAs new MetaPWR System. This helps to boost your metabolism and that means more energy and less fat. When your metabolism is functioning properly you have tons of extra energy to not only complete tasks but keep up with your kids as well!doTERRAs MetaPWR system to help boost energy and metabolism

  • Get enough sleep at night. Sleep-wake cycles are a huge factor when it comes to your energetic health. And truthfully when I get better sleep I’m way less cranky and I don’t find myself yelling at the kids so often.
  • Drink enough water. Swap one or two cups of coffee for 8 oz of water. You’d think the caffeine is better for your energy but the water does wonders. I find myself feeling drained and then I drink some water and I actually feel energized again.
  • Stretch. I don’t really know how this works if I’m being honest but if I take 5 minutes to stretch out and get my blood flowing I feel refreshed and ready to go.
  • Force some you time into your schedule. Whether you like reading, napping, exercising, or binge-watching tv make some time for that in your schedule. Having time to get back to you is a large part in keeping healthy energy levels.
  • Reduce your stress levels. Check out this article we wrote for some ideas!
